17th Toyota Dream Car Art Contest

For the first time, Real Auto will hold the “Toyota Dream Car Art Contest” for students in Sint Maarten/St. Martin.

The “Toyota Dream Car Art Contest” is a global initiative by Toyota which invites children from all corners of the globe to share ideas about the future of mobility by drawing their dream cars.

The contest is held to cultivate children’s imagination and artistic expression through the creation of artworks. The contest is comprised of the National Contest and the World Contest. Winners of the National Contest will be entered as representatives of their own country into the World Contest, to be held in Japan.

SXM National Contest Information

Entry PeriodNovember 1, 2023 – February 9, February 29, 2024
Target ApplicantThose who are 15 years old and younger and who live in St. Maarten/St Martin
Age Categories(1) Category 1: 7 years old or under 
(2) Category 2: 8­–11 years old
(3) Category 3: 12–15 years old

All entries must be accompanied by a completed official Toyota Dream Car Art Contest Entry Form. All entries must be signed by the applicants legal guardian(s).

Entry Guidelines

Hand drawing artworks

  • Paper size: 400mm x 550 mm (15.7-21.7in.) or smaller, thickness of 5mm or less
  • The recommended size is A3 or tabloid size. (A4, quarter, and octavo sizes are also acceptable.)
  • The color, material, and shape of paper can be chosen freely.
  • Drawing materials: Any
    • Any drawing materials can be used, such as color pencils, markers, crayons, or paints.
  • Collage or cutout pictures will be allowed for plane drawings, excluding ones making other artworks dirty or requiring special care in handling.

Computer Graphics artworks

  • File size: Between 1MB and 5MB with around 300dpi per one artwork
  • File format: JPG, PNG
  • Submit as high-definition data as possible to prevent disqualification for judging or re-submission.
  • Computer Graphics artwork is the one “digitally drawn” on electric devices. Any device can be used, including tablets, PCs and smartphones etc.
  • In case of importing images, the material must be participant’s original data (paintings drawn by the participant etc.).
  • Note the restrictions when creating Computer Graphic Artworks:
    • Photographs and free images are prohibited to use.
    • In case of using drawing application, it is prohibited to use processing items such as illustrations, stamps, template, etc.
    • Any creative generated by AI is unacceptable, for example the use of ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion etc.

Unacceptable Artworks

  • Artworks that do not meet the regulations mentioned above
  • Artworks using photographs, free images, purchased products (stickers, wrapping paper, newspaper, etc.)
  • Artworks that resemble the previous Toyota Dream Car Art Contest artworks, famous paintings, paintings created by other artists
  • Artworks including trademarked characters, corporation logos, and specific items
  • Artworks drawing cars by manufacturers other than TOYOTA
  • Collaborative artworks drawn by multiple individuals
  • Artworks created by a person other than the participant, or with the help of adults (parent, legal guardian, instructor, etc.)
  • Artworks with incomplete Entry Forms or missing information
